Debbie Chang ranked Veronica Mars 3rd.? She says…
Veronica Mars is smarter than me. It’s true. She is. And that is why I must place Veronica Mars near the top of my list of best shows of 2007.
The year 2007 brought us the second of the third-season mini-mystery arcs on Veronica Mars,
this one involving the murder of Dean Cyrus O’Dell (guest star Ed
Begley, Jr.). Though not as meticulous or satisfying as the amazing
22-episode long mystery of who killed Lilly Kane (Amanda Seyfried) in
the first season, Dean O’Dell was still a sympathetic enough character
to make the mystery of his death compelling.
And while Veronica Mars
took a turn towards the bubble gum in its final season, shedding much
of the dark, ethically ambiguous noir landscape of seasons past, it
still had the quintessential snarkiness and one-liners that I so love.
The series ended with a bang with the last standalone three episodes.
Veronica passes her exam to be an official private
investigatoralthough she didn’t quite beat her dad Keith’s (Enrico Colantoni) scoreand found herself at odds with her current boyfriend Stosh “Piz” Piznarski (Chris Lowell)
because of her inability to commit to him completely. She distracts him
from their relationship drama with a cheerleader-themed session of
hanky-panky, which unfortunately gets leaked onto the Internet. Now
things are personal, and Veronica Mars is always at her best when
things are person. Reminiscent of “A Trip to the Dentist” in the first
season, in which she discovers who raped her at Shelly Pomroy’s party
before the start of the series, Veronica investigates the Hearst
College campus with a vengeance, eventually finding and sticking it to
the culprits.
Although it was a disappointment to all when Veronica Mars
wasn’t renewed for a fourth season, it went out on a perfect, dark note
in the series finale, “The Bitch is Back.” The finale brought the show
back to its noir roots, with the two Mars protagonists perpetrating
shady acts and once again becoming Neptune, California’s least favorite
duo.

I added caps from 5 more episodes and that means that whole 3rd season is capped!

Fueling rumors of a possible romance, Dax Shepard gave Kristen Bell a lift to have her car serviced in Los Angeles yesterday.
The Punk’d prankster was spotted helping the Heroes hottie take her Saturn Vue over to MasterCare Car Service for an undisclosed reason.
The pair then hopped in Dax’s pickup truck and jaunted over to Vivian’s Caf to enjoy an afternoon of food and conversation, before heading back over to the car shop.
And Kristen kept it casual, wearing some ripped jeans and a black shirt, while Dax sported a button-up top with some trendy distressed denim.

December 11, 2007 – Outside the main entrance to Universal Studios today the writing staff of Heroes were joined by fans from the show, as they walked the picket line during the ongoing Writers Guild strike. Also there to show support and walk with her writers was Kristen Bell, who plays the villainous and troubled Elle on the series.
Bell may have only joined the series a few months ago, but she clearly has made a strong and highly positive impression on her colleagues, as Heroes creator/executive producer/writer Tim Kring and co-executive producer/writer Jeph Loeb greeted her warmly before they walked the picket line together with the fans. Loeb even joked that later that afternoon, he and Bell were going to get married.
During her time joining the picket line I spoke to Bell about the strike, its effect on Heroes and her thoughts on the situation.
IGN TV: You’ve got fans out here today walking with you. In general, have you found that they are very understanding about why the strike is happening at this point?
Kristen Bell: I think people are trying to understand. I mean it’s a little confusing to everybody when anybody goes on strike. They always think they’re making inappropriate demands, but I think in this case word has gotten out enough that the writers are just looking for some fairness.
IGN TV: Did you have many conversations with the writers on Heroes as the possibility of the strike grew more likely?
Bell: Oh my gosh, yeah. It was like anxiety 24/7. We were all just sad, because we knew it was coming and it was the lesser of two evils. It was nerve-wracking for everyone. Nobody wanted it to happen; nobody wanted it.
IGN TV: What was it like when the strike began and you were still filming?
Bell: Obviously we were all very much in support of the strike, so there was a little bit of anxiety when you had to cross the line. But we looked at it like it was written prior to this and we were simply honoring our commitment to what they had already written. And then after that, I think we’ve all stayed pretty strong with the fact that everybody’s now going to be supporting the writers… Because we have no scripts!
