Last night was the premiere of Kristen Bell’s newest film, “You Again”, in Los Angeles. I have added 461 HQ and MQ photos of Kristen at the premiere red carpet and after party – she looks so amazing!
Kristen Bell stars as Marni, a PR professional who returns home for her brother’s wedding only to discover that her worst fear’s come true, in the Touchstone Pictures comedy movie You Again directed by Andy Fickman. Marni’s brother (played by James Wolk) is marrying her arch-nemesis from high school (played by Odette Yustman), which instantly dredges up every rotten memory from high school. And as if that isn’t bad enough, Marni’s mom (Jamie Lee Curtis) is forced into dealing with her own high school rival, Ramona (Sigourney Weaver), who just happens to be a relative of the bride.
Bell’s no stranger to comedy films, but You Again really challenges her comedy chops, putting her through some crazy physical comedy scenes and requiring her to wear some pretty crazy make-up. Chatting with the press in LA in support of the film’s September 24th release, Bell revealed her own memories of high school and going above and beyond the call of duty to look all high school-ish in You Again.
On Her High School Memories:
Kristen Bell: “I had a lot of insecure moments in high school. It wasn’t all just peachy keen, but I don’t necessarily think that I hated high school and wanted to crawl into a hole either. I mean I was someone somewhere between Marni and Joanna because I wasn’t a mean girl. I was way too insecure for that and I was way too paranoid that everybody liked me. In that sense I was a little bit of a pushover, but that was just because I really wanted to be accepted. I think that’s all anybody wants and it manifests in different forms. It manifest as like guys who beat their chests as jocks or people who are to introverted or people like me who are just going around ass-kissing. I mean not in a devious way, but in a way like I just really wanted to make sure that I was not on anyone’s bad side because I was too scared. I was so paranoid that I would not…that my friends wouldn’t like me.”
“I went to a very small school where the consequences of bullying were very, very real. You couldn’t just push some nameless face in the hallway because everybody knew each other’s families. So, there was a lot less. There wasn’t the obligatory psychotic jackass that tortured everybody. I was best friends with a girl since fourth grade who was kind of the toughest girl in our high school. So, strategy-wise, in a sense for me that was my best move and I’m still best friends with her to date. I speak to her every couple of days. She was mainly the one that could be bitchy sometimes, but she was never bitchy to me, thankfully. Well, no, she was a couple of times.”
Yahoo! Movies has debuted a new clip from “You Again”, sharing how uncomfortable Kristen Bell’s Marni when she has to encounter her old rival again. This is worsened when her mother, played by Jamie Lee Curtis, does the cheerleading move with Joanna, who is no other than her brother’s girlfriend.
Successful PR pro Marni heads home for her older brother’s wedding and discovers that he’s marrying her high school arch nemesis, who’s conveniently forgotten their problematic past. Then the bride’s jet-setting aunt bursts in and Marni’s not-so-jet-setting mom comes face to face with her own high school rival. The claws come out and old wounds are opened in this crazy comedy that proves that not all rivalries are forever.
Odette Yustman stars as Joanna, while Sigourney Weaver portrays Joanna’s aunt. Joining the cast ensemble is veteran actress Betty White who is cast as Grandma Bunny. This Andy Fickman-directed film will arrive in U.S. cinemas on September 24.
Usually featured as a DVD extra, Touchstone Pictures has released the “You Again” blooper reel prior to the movie release! Kristen’s adorable in it! Check it out below.
Actress KRISTEN BELL is putting her musical talents to the test – she’s planning to take piano lessons after “accidentally” buying one at a parking lot sale.
The Heroes star admits she can’t resist a good bargain – and pulled over immediately when she saw a parking lot full of pianos for sale in Southern California, even though she had no idea how to play a tune.
Now Bell is hoping to tickle the ivories for the first time – but the impulse buy has made her realise she may need to curb her spending habits.
She laughs, “I discovered I am powerless over a parking lot sale. I was driving in the (San Fernando) Valley and they had all these pianos – these old vintage pianos, and new pianos! And a big piano sale – because not a lot of people are buying pianos these days I guess, so I walked in. I don’t know how much a piano is, are they $100? Are they $100,000?
“To me it seems like a lot of craftsmanship goes into it. It turns out they are not that expensive. And I walked away with a really nice piano that is now in my living room. I do not (play). I hope to play.” (Source)
Looking at picture-perfect Kristen Bell, you’d think high school was a cakewalk for her. That wasn’t the case.
“I definitely had an awkward phase,” she admits in a Beverly Hills hotel room. Although she says she didn’t endure the same kind of extremes that her character does in the forthcoming Disney teen comedy You Again, she did have the universal experience of teenage growing pains.
“I was very much a pleaser in high school,” she says, “and I was always very nervous that people wouldn’t like me, so I led with compliments and I tried to keep everyone on my good side. And that was how my wanting to be accepted manifested itself.”
Actress Kristen Bell was mortified when she first brought fiance Dax Shepard home to meet the family after her aunt made an awkward joke about her love of masturbation. Bell introduced Shepard to her relatives in November 2009 for America’s Thanksgiving holiday, and the actor eventually proposed in January this year.
But the “Heroes” star was left speechless at a formal family dinner, when her “sweet” aunt tried to lighten the mood with a filthy joke. She recalls, “At Thanksgiving, which is about 15 people -10 of which were over 75 – my sweet, sweet aunt… decided she was all of a sudden bit by a commy (comedienne) bug. And she says, ‘I’ve got a joke!’ And we all thought, ‘OK, this is weird’.”
And Bell was stunned when she heard what came next, “She looked at us and she said, ‘What has two thumbs and loves to masturbate? This girl!’ My cousins and I did not know what to do… You gotta know your audience – it was not appropriate.”(Source)
