If there’s one thing House of Lies viewers have learned about Marty Kaan (Don Cheadle) and his “pod” at Galweather & Stearn, it’s that they’ll go to any lengths necessary to get the job done. So now that the company’s merger with MetroCapital has gotten the green light, expect the quartet to go to even greater extremes to save themselves.
“Their backs are truly against a wall,” Ben Schwartz told reporters earlier this week. “They’re scrambling to get air and not die, and killing anybody they can to get air.”
However, Marty’s problems aren’t limited to the boardroom. In Sunday’s season finale (10/9c on Showtime), he is also headed for a heated courtroom battle with his ex-wife and work rival Monica (Dawn Olivieri) over their son Roscoe. “The merger, while very important, is not as important as the things that happen between the characters,” series boss Matthew Carnahan said. “What happens… leaves everything… in a terrible state of disarray.”
Carnahan, along with stars Schwartz and Josh Lawson offered six other teases for the season finale, Season 2 and beyond:
Kristen Bell isn’t going anywhere as Showtime’s ‘House of Lies’ has recently been announced as being renewed for the second season.
The show, also starring Don Cheadle, has only been on for about four episodes but is already one of the network’s highest-rated programs, states UsMagazine.com. ‘Shameless’ and ‘Californication’ have reportedly also been renewed for more seasons.
The network has commented on being pleased with all the shows and the growing audiences they are gaining.
Fans of the new hit SHOWTIME comedy series HOUSE OF LIES can now enjoy a behind the scenes look at what goes on at the Galweather & Stearn offices when the hot, young team of consultants is away from their clients. The team typically spends four days a week on the road, working hard and playing even harder. But, on Fridays, the real fun begins… This is the story of what happens on the fifth day. The “Fridays at Galweather” webisodes were written by Emmy® Award-winning series star Ben Schwartz and series co-producer Wes Nickerson, and directed by Emmy Award-winning series star Glynn Turman (“The Wire”).
The HOUSE OF LIES webisodes focus on Clyde (Schwartz) and Doug’s (Josh Lawson) frat boy antics during their “work day” at the Galweather & Stearn offices. Clyde and Doug take on “strategic” issues that include sexual harassment, hazing a new applicant, how to hire cost-effective adult entertainment and what to do when trapped in an elevator. The webisodes will also feature a guest appearance by series star Kristen Bell.
Kristen was at David Letterman on January 6 to promote House of Lies. She discussed road trips and shark diving. It’s a great interview so be sure to check it out.
